Refugees and Immigrant Re-settlement Program:
We recognize that it is a painful decision for anyone to leave their homeland, work, and families for a foreign country in order to save their lives. Under its Immigrant and Refugee Settlement Program, ICV assists asylum seekers, refugees, and newcomers with their integration and settlement into Canadian society. Through this program, we walk newcomers to Canada through the basics of Canadian life and provide them with the necessary tools to succeed.
Support the Victims of Persecution for Faith and Ethnicity
Under Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) cost table guidelines, we need $40,000 to sponsor Gul Sher (Driving Shahbaz Bhatti, at the time of his Assassination) who is currently incarcerated under inhumane conditions in Bangkok and his family is scattered in Pakistan. In his present circumstances, this individual is forgotten, helpless and hopeless, suffering from a lack of freedom, food, nutrition and medical aid. Their only crime is overstaying their Thai visitor visa. The UNHCR has recognized him as a refugee and has granted them “refugee status”.
We appeal to individuals, Pakistani Christian organizations and churches, philanthropists, humanitarian organizations and like-minded institutions to support our effort to bring them to Canada by raising the funds required to sponsor them.
